FAQ's

Below are some frequently asked questions that we hope will provide you with some extra information. If you have any additional questions please get in touch.

 

IS THIS A FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT?

We pride ourselves on being a family friendly event so all ages are welcome and will find plenty to do.  We offer discounted tickets for children and remind parents and guardians that they are responsible for the safety and behaviour of their children on site.

 

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Absolutely, we love well behaved dogs! All we ask is that you take full responsibility, so please keep them on leads and clear up any mess that they may make.  It’s not pleasant to take dog mess into your tent because someone has been careless about picking up poo.  Please dispose of poo bags in the rubbish bins provided or ideally take them home with you.

 

DO I NEED TO PRINT OUT MY TICKET?

It is essential that you have either an electric or paper copy of your ticket.For the e-ticket you just need to download the ticket onto any smart device. All tickets will need to be shown on the gate for admittance where they will be exchanged for a wrist band.  Sadly failure to show us a valid ticket will mean that we can’t let you in and you will have to purchase a replacementor go home to collect your ticket.

 

WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS?

Tickets can be bought online in advance of the event (this is essential if you wish to camp). There may also be day tickets available to buy on the gate subject to availability.

 

CAN I CANCEL/ REFUND MY TICKET?

Unfortunately we have a strict ‘no refund policy’ – we recommend that you pass your ticket onto a friend or family member

 

DO I NEED A SEPARATE TICKET TO CAMP?

Tickets for camping must be bought online in advance of the event. We offer a variety of options so be careful to select one that includes camping (either tent or campervan/caravan).  It is also vital that you complete the information form so we can place you on the entry manifest.

 

DOES MY BABY NEED A TICKET?

No, little ones under the age of three are granted free admission

 

WHEN CAN I ARRIVE?

For campers arriving on Friday you will only be able to access the site between 4pm and 8pm and for safety reasons the gates will be closed after this time.

For campers arriving on Saturday the gates will be open between 9am and 11am.  If you arrive after 11am, you will be asked to park in the top carpark and you will only be able to access the campsite after 6pm.  

Day ticket holders can arrive after 5pm on Friday and after 11am on Saturday.

 

WHEN DO I HAVE TO LEAVE?

The site closes for campers at 11am on Sunday so we ask that you are all safely on your way home by then.

For day ticket holders each evening will finish at 11pm.

 

ARE THERE ANY POWER POINTS AVAILABLE?

Unfortunately the beautiful rural location of the site means that we are unable to offer power points. We recommend that you bring portable power packs.

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN CAMP ON MY PITCH?

There is a maximum allocation of 5 persons per tent or campervan/caravan pitch.  This will be checked on arrival and during the event.

 

I HAVE A DISABILITY. IS THIS EVENT SUITABLE FOR ME?

We endeavour to make our festival inclusive and accessible.  In normal conditions there is wheelchair access across the site although the terrain is uneven and on grass. We recommend you contact us for precise instructions prior to the event and we will be delighted to advise you how to make the most of your time at DorsetFest.

 

CAN I BRING MY OWN ALCOHOL?

Campers may consume their own alcohol in the camping field.

HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT NO PERSONAL ALCOHOL WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE FESTIVAL FIELD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

We have multiple bars that help us raise money for our wonderful charities so please make sure you support them. All alcohol vendors will operate a challenge 25 policy and if you are lucky enough to look under 25 you will be asked to provide proof of age.

 

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD?

We ask that you support our delicious food outlets as much as possible as the proceeds go to charity. However we do understand that this can make it an expensive weekend for families therefore we ask that you buy at least one meal a day from our vendors and ideally consume your own food away from the festival field.

 

CAN I GET CASH OUT?

Unfortunately there are no facilities to withdraw money so please bring enough cash to spend on our wonderful food, drink and other stalls. However, we are pleased to say that the bar does offer card payment but it is the only outlet able to do so and is not able to provide cash-back.

 

CAN I BRING MY CAMPERVAN/ CARAVAN?

Yes, you can purchase this ticket online under CAMPING FOR CAMPERVAN/ CARAVAN

 

WHAT IS YOUR WASTE DISPOSAL POLICY?

We are aiming to be a green festival so are attempting to minimise waste and recycle wherever possible. Therefore we ask that you put your waste in the correct bins and request that campers take their waste home with them. We are also pleased to provide water points to refill your bottles and only reusable cups will be offered at the bars.

 

WHAT’S YOUR DRUG POLICY?

This is a family friendly event so we are absolutely not cool with drugs or illicit substances. Anyone found with such contraband will be asked to leave and the police will be contacted.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED?

We will try to do everything to ensure that this doesn’t happen.However if very bad weather means it will not be safe to go ahead with the event a decision will be made by the Thursday night. We will provide the verdict (either cancelled, or more likely all good) on our website as well as all of our social media platforms. In the event of cancellation, we will do our best to refund ticket holders as quickly as possible but for administration reasons this may take up to 30 days.  Tickets will be refunded in full minus the booking fee.

 

WILL MY PHOTO BE TAKEN?

By entering the festival you give your permission to be featured in marketing and advertising materials for the festival. For the duration of the event there will be an onsite photographer who will be wearing the official DorsetFest tees. Smile! However, if you strongly object to your photo being used please ask the photographer to delete the photo from their camera.

 

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

To perform or trade at DorsetFest please complete and send our application form which can be found on the website. If you would like to volunteer please get in touch – many hands make light work!
